Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally build environment, including public work such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewage system, pipelines, structural components of buildings and railways.

The department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2010. The department has a team of highly experienced faculty members with rich academic and industrial experience in various frontier engineering and technology areas. The faculty members and students of the department are dedicated to work in the current needs of the industry and have the ability to improve their expertise in the field of Civil engineering.There are well equipped laboratories attached to the department. These laboratories are well equipped for conducting teaching, research and consultancy activities.

The lab activities in the department focus on the thrust areas of the Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management with MIS and soft Computing in Civil Engineering. The faculty members encourage the students to get involved in the laboratory activities of the department and thereby provide the best possible introduction to hands on, practical engineering problems.

Verification of Bernoullis theorem, To find co-efficient of Venturi meter/Orifice meter, To find co-efficient discharge of Orifice/Mouthpiece,To find co-efficient discharge of Notch, To find efficiency Reciprocating pump,To find efficiency centrifugal pump.

Material Testing Laboratory-II

To find bulk density and specific gravity test, Proctor compaction test, attrition test, abrasion test, Impact test, Determination of settleable solids by Imhoff cone, Determination of turbidity of water byjakson candle Turbidity meter.

Construction practice laboratory

Identify the dimension of coarse aggregate and construction materials.

Surveying practice-II

Determination of distance b/w two points, vertical angles, To find the Height, single plane method and double plane method using Theodolite, measurement of altitude of elevated point, run closed traverse determination of area using Total station.

Draw the public health and bridge drawing, plan section elevation of slab, beam lintle, staircase, RCC column using CAD Software

Environmental engineering laboratory

Determination of PH value ,Determination of Temporary and permanent hardness, to find optimum dose of coagulant by jar test.

Concrete Technology practical

Determination of workability of concrete by Slump cone and compaction factor test, casting of concrete cube, Determination of fineness modulus of sieve set of fine aggregate and coarse aggregate, Vee Bee consistometer test on concrete, to find initial setting time of cement by using vicats apparatus.

Computer Application In Civil Engineering practice

Electronic spread sheet using software(estimation, analysis and design) RCC detailing, structures, construction project using software, drawing maps using GIS software.
